Calculate the amount of funds

In 2006 Jogja was rocked by an earthquake, where many homes were damaged, and the government allocates funds to 30 millionhomes were destroyed, for homes damaged by 15 million andslightly damaged by 5 million. If the region X there are 14 homesdestroyed, 23 homes were damaged and 5 were slightly damaged, so how much allocation of funds provided by thegovernment for the area?

Solution:

We suppose:

allocation of funds for the houses destroyed = x
allocation of funds for homes damaged = y
allocation of funds for slightly damaged houses = z
So we get the equation 14x +23 y 5 z if the allocation of fundswhich we substitute into the equation so that we get the allocationmust be spent by the government
if substitusion
14 houses were severely damaged = 14 x 30 million = 420 million
23 homes damaged = 23 x 15 million = 345 million
5 houses were slightly damaged = 5 x 5 million = 25 million
Sum of funds = 420 million 345 million + 25 million = 790 million

So the government should allocate funds amounting to 790 million.
